Like most people, we love smoothies. We usually get hooked on them in spurts: every day for a while, then forget about them for a few months. The peanut butter one below is a favorite that I have used for decades. And it’s only 4 Weight Watcher points (made without the ice cream). It’s thin, but provides a protein pick-me-up. The berry smoothie is one I created this week when I ran across some berries in my freezer that needed to be used. It’s a keeper!
Peanut Butter/Banana Smoothie
1/2 c milk
1/2 banana
2 T peanut butter
1 T honey or 1 t Splenda
3 ice cubes
Blend all and enjoy for a good little protein pick-me-up.
If using frozen banana, reduce the ice cubes. For an extra treat, replace the ice cubes with a scoop of ice cream.
To make this even easier, when I have over-ripe bananas on hand, I’ll blend them up with peanut butter, Splenda (in proportions above) and just enough milk to enable the mixture to be poured into ice cube trays. I pop out the cubes into a freezer bag to have on hand for a quick “cube plus milk equals smoothie” treat.
Berry Smoothie
1/2 c apple juice
1/2 banana
1/2 c frozen blueberries, blackberries, or cherries
(oh. my. word. Cherries and blackberries are a good combination!)
Blend until smooth, adding a bit more juice if necessary.

OK–the Peanut butter/banana cubes are brilliant.
I am SO borrowing this one!!
