There are some Green Bean Bundle recipes out there that are lengthy and full of ingredients and need to be marinated, but this simple Steam – Wrap – Bake recipe is quick and easy, even in a rush. In fact, these bundles are the vegetable star of my Countdown to Dinner: Chili, Cinnamon Rolls, and Green Bean Bundles edition.
Easy from Start to Finish
Cut off the ends of your green beans and place them in a colander to wash.
Then, into the steamer basket they go for about 10 minutes. You can season the green beans with salt and pepper, garlic powder, and minced onion flakes.
It’s best to pre-cook at 350° the bacon on a sheet pan and then wrap 5-7 green beans with a strip of bacon when the bacon is almost done. It can cool for a little bit, or you can use gloves to help with handling hot food.
Return the green bean bundles to your sheet pan and continue cooking for 15-20 minutes. Serve hot.
My son now thinks all vegetables should be wrapped in bacon.

Green Bean Bundles
Equipment
- toothpicks or skewers
Ingredients
- 12 oz green beans
- 8 strips bacon
- 1/2 t salt
- 1/2 t garlic powder
- 2 t onion flakes
Instructions
- Trim and wash green beans, then steam them in a saucepan with seasonings for 10 minutes
- Preheat oven to 350° and place bacon in individual strips onto sheet pan. Bake bacon for 20 minutes and turn it over, then go another 20 minutes if it is thick sliced. Less if it's thin.
- Remove bacon, just under fully cooked, and drain pieces on paper towel. Once it's cool enough to handle, wrap 5-6 green beans with each slice of bacon. Secure with a toothpick and return bundles to the sheet pan.
- Return bundles to oven for 10-20 minutes until bacon is crisp and beans are tender. Serve hot.
Tip: before reusing pan, drain excess grease into an empty can from another recipe and wipe pan with a paper towel. It won't be clean, but it will remove much of the greasiness.
